Kenneth Jay Talsma

Kenneth Talsma, age 79, of Plainwell, passed away on May 4th. Kenneth was born on April 10th, 1941 to John and Clara (Leep) Talsma. To his peers and family Kenneth was known as a “gear head”. He loved working, rebuilding, restoring cars and owned Talsma Auto Upholstery business. He loved attending car shows, stock car races and was an award-winning recipient for his attention to detail and talent in upholstery. Kenneth also loved camping and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Emily; three children, Patricia (Harvey) Becker, Jim (Roxanne) Talsma and Jennifer (Cornelius “Corky”) Zuydwegt; seven grandchildren, Nicole Bush, Crystal Beach, Jamie Talsma, Charlie Flanagan III, MaKenzy Flanagan, Brea Zuydwegt and CJ Zuydwegt; three sisters Joyce Ryland, Marilyn (Dale) Lemmer, Aneda (James) Matteson; two great grandchildren; two sibling in laws, Norma (William “Bill”) Broadhurst and Norman “Tom” (Mary) Hudson. Kenneth is preceded in death by one brother, Robert (Dorris) Talsma and son in law, Richard Sund, and parents.
