In Loving Memory of Kitti J. (Davison) Goldberg
November 2, 1960 - Jan 3, 2025
Kitti Jo Goldberg of Vicksburg passed away Friday, January 3, 2025, at the age of 64. Kitti was born November 2, 1960, in Battle Creek. The daughter of Coy and Darlene (Werner) Davison. She graduated from Portage Central High School with the Class of 1978. Kitti was proud to have worked for the Kalamazoo Gazette for 30 years. On September 18, 1982, Kitti was united in marriage to Paul W. Goldberg.
Kitti has repeatedly been described as “one of a kind” with an infectious laugh and sense of humor. Kitti prided herself in being a great friend. She would do anything for someone she loved and was a true friend to many.
Her Gazette colleagues became family to her. Even after she no longer worked at the Gazette she looked forward to when the Gazette crew continued to meet at places such as the Blue Dolphin and Zeb’s to spend time together catching up and reminiscing on memories.
Kitti was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. Although in recent years, her health did not allow her to do all the things she once enjoyed, the love for her family and especially her grandchildren never failed. One of her favorite activities throughout her life was camping at Lakes of the North where summers were spent fishing, swimming, and enjoying bonfires. These memories live on and will continue through her grandchildren.
Kitti was a lifelong Lions fan. When Paul went deer hunting, Kitti and her friends would go “Lion Hunting” and camp out at the hotels the Lions players stayed at to meet them and obtain autographs. Kitti will be watching the Lions from a much better view now. If anyone feels compelled to join the celebration described below, Lions gear is welcome.
Kitti is survived by her husband of 42 years, Paul; daughter, Lindsay (David) Brelinski of Dorr; her son, Kyle (Hannah) Goldberg of Vicksburg; five grandchildren, Brooks, Evelyn, Hudson, Reed, and Madison.
She is also survived by her sister, Kathy VanDyke of Three Rivers; her brother, Kip (Stacy) Davison of Mattawan; many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at Jac’s Cekola’s, 3112 S 9th St, Kalamazoo, MI 49009 on Friday, January 17th from 4:00-8:00pm.
