Larry Agema

On May 6th, 2020, Lawrence “Larry” Agema passed away peacefully, after his long battle with cancer. He was 72yrs old. Born August 27th, 1947, the son of Paul and Lois Agema. He was a life-long resident of Portage, MI, besides a short time spent in Indianapolis for school. He married Barb Miller in 1976 and they spent the next 43 years creating a great life together. He retired after 34 years as an engineer for Michigan Bell. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, golfing, trips to the casinos, tinkering on the house and cars, and watching his grandchildren play sports. In the final days, he still had his humor and a taste for whiskey. He will be deeply missed. Survived by his wife: Barb Agema; three children: Kevin Agema, Cheryl (Jeff) Postula, Jill (Chuck) Thompson, six grandchildren: Bradley, Brett, Jack, Sam, Chole, and Caitlin. He is also survived by his siblings: Vicki (Randy)Phillips, Deb Agema, and Paul (Lisa) Agema; Nephews/Nieces: Randy, Brian, Adam, and Melissa; and Cousin: Sandy (Ken) Schauer. Due to the social climate around COVID-19, the family will hold a celebration of his life later this summer.
