Larry Ray Farmer, born on August 12, 1944, in Muskegon, Michigan, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2025. He lived a life rich in experiences, remarkable accomplishments, and cherished relationships. Larry was a dedicated professional who worked in the skill trades at General Motors for over 32 years, a testament to his work ethic and craftsmanship.

Larry's educational journey began in Muskegon, where he graduated from Muskegon High School with the Class of 1962. Anyone who knew him would describe Larry as kind-hearted, always with a great smile and never meeting a stranger. He was the family's Mr. Fix-It Handyman, ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

A devoted husband, Larry celebrated 61 wonderful years of marriage to his beloved wife, Dixie Lee Jones, whom he married on March 21, 1964. Their love story began through a blind date set up by a cousin, leading to a remarkable partnership filled with travel and adventure. Together, they explored the world, but their hearts were always drawn back to Michigan's Upper Peninsula, with the Crisp Point Lighthouse on Lake Superior being one of their favorite destinations.

Larry had a passion for sports, being a loyal supporter of the University of Michigan Wolverine and the Detroit Lions. His enthusiasm for sports was reflected in the way he engaged with others, sharing joyful moments in the company of family and friends.

An avid outdoorsman, Larry enjoyed playing golf, hunting, and spending time outdoors with his beloved dogs. His zest for life and appreciation for nature created countless memories that he shared with those around him.

Larry Ray Farmer leaves behind a legacy of kindness, love, and unforgettable memories. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him, especially his devoted wife, Dixie. His spirit will continue to shine through the lives he touched and the love he shared.

Larry is survived by his wife of 61 years: Dixie; two daughters: Mary (Mike Pikaart) DeNooyer, of Hudsonville; Kim (Carol Dmochowsky) Farmer, of Mount Pleasant, SC; three granddaughters: Miranda (Brenden); Rachel and Alyssa; two great grandchildren: Peyton and Ayla. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-laws: Phil Schultz; Roger, and Hilde Farmer; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Raymond and Helen Farmer; and three siblings: Robert Farmer, Loretta Vanderzel, and Joanne Schultz; brother-in-law: Roger Vanderzel.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Larry's Birthday, August 12, 2025 from 11am until 3pm at the Klines Resort Clubhouse, 22260 Klines Resort Road, Three Rivers, MI 49093.
