Laurie Ann Barnett

Laurie Ann Barnett, born April 20, 1948, to Walter and Jean Harris, peacefully passed away on October 22, 2023, at the age of 75.

Laurie's journey began in Ludington, Michigan, where she graduated from Ludington High School. Around 1970, she made the Kalamazoo area her home, and it was here that her life blossomed. In 1971, she welcomed the arrival of twin boys, Thomas Richard and David Richard, who brought immense joy to her life.

Laurie was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Jean Harris, her brother Rich Harris, her infant son David Barnett, and her beloved husband, Dick Barnett. Her loss leaves a void that words can scarcely convey.

Laurie is survived by her loving son, Tom Barnett, and his wife, Nikki Barnett, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Grace and Noah Barnett. Laurie's family was her pride and joy, and she delighted in watching her grandchildren grow and thrive. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and her impact on their lives will be everlasting.

Laurie's bond with her husband, Dick, was one of unwavering love and friendship. Together, they owned and operated RB Printing in Mattawan, Michigan, for over 20 years, sharing in both the challenges and triumphs of their business.

Laurie had an undeniable passion for animals, particularly horses and dogs. She adored her horse, Jan, and cherished several Standard Poodles who brought joy and companionship to her life.

A lifelong baseball enthusiast, Laurie was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers.

Laurie shared a sweet tooth with her father and cherished the wonderful memories of visiting the bakery with him during her childhood. A Coca-Cola could always bring a smile to her face, reflecting her simple and delightful pleasures.

Laurie was known for her beautiful smile and constant laughter, which radiated warmth and positivity to all who were fortunate to cross her path.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the SPCA of Southwest Michigan, an organization that held a special place in Laurie's heart. Her love for animals, her family, and her vibrant spirit will forever be remembered.

At this time, no memorial service is planned, but the memories of Laurie's love, laughter, and the impact she had on the lives of those who knew her will endure.

Laurie Ann Barnett will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the light and love she brought into the lives of those around her.
