Leroy George Lumbert "Skip", passed away peacefully on October 19, 2024, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Skip was born on February 9th, 1938, in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Archie and Leatha (Haven) Lumbert.
Leroy served his country proudly in the Korean War. He loved the outdoors, and enjoyed hunting, and fishing whenever he had a chance. He loved to tinker on machinery and fixing old cars. He dabbled in woodworking and lapidary. He loved most to go to Buckly to the tractor shows and the Rock and gem shows. He would always take his family up to Peacock to run the trails with their dune buggies made of old Volkswagens. He was a member of the muzzle-loading club, and the CB club.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Archie Lumbert Sr. and Leatha Heaven; his wife Connie D. Lumbert (Cam).
He is survived by his children: Loyde Lumbert, and Loretta Stinnett (Lumbert); his grandchildren, Jonathan Stinnett, and Amanda Stinnett; his beloved nephew Chuck McCormick; and many other relatives.
Following his wishes, cremation has taken place. He will be laid to rest at the Harrison Cemetery in Schoolcraft Michigan on his family plot.
