In the bounteous book of life, where every soul's story is inscribed, the chapter of Lesa Marie Simkins was one inked with love and generosity, her spirit as unyielding and beautiful as the Tennessee mountains she so cherished. Born on the ninth day of February in the year of our Lord, nineteen hundred and sixty-two, within the welcoming bounds of Kalamazoo, her story began, and there, on the eighth of March in the year twenty twenty-five, her earthly tale found its peaceful end.
Lesa, as she was affectionately known by kin and comrades, was a woman of warmth, whose selfless nature and spirited heart were the beacon that guided her family through tempest and trial. She was the loving daughter of Kalamazoo, the town that gave her birth and in its embrace, she did draw her last breath, succumbing to an infection that even her indomitable spirit could not withstand.
The fruit of Lesa's love and legacy is found in those she leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted partner, Doug Dunigan, with whom she shared life's journey; her beloved son, Torren Dunigan, a testament to her boundless affection; and her treasured grandchildren, Asha, Chance, Kellan, and Enzo, who will know the world as a finer place for her having been in it. Her constellation of many friends and family will ever feel the absence of her radiant light.
A scholar of Davenport College, where she attained her Bachelor of Arts in Business, Lesa's intellectual pursuits were matched only by her dedication to her chosen vocation. She toiled many years with vigor and virtue in the plumbing and aggregate industry, her voice the melody of morning in her roles as office manager and dispatcher. Her diligence and dedication shone as a guiding star to those who worked by her side.
Beyond the confines of her profession, Lesa's life was a tapestry rich with passions and pursuits. Her heart was a sanctuary for her fur babies, creatures great and small reveling in her compassion. A wanderlust soul, she found solace in the grandeur of travel, her spirit soaring with each new horizon. Yet, it was amidst the serene grandeur of the Tennessee Mountains where she found her greatest joy, her spirit at one with the silent majesty of nature's handiwork.
To speak of Lesa is to speak of love incarnate, for she embodied the purest form of altruism. Her life—a testament to the strength of a generous heart, the resolve of an unbroken spirit. To encounter her was to know kindness, to feel the embrace of care unfettered by expectation or demand. Indeed, she was the embodiment of love's truest expression.
Let it be known that the tale of Lesa Marie Simkins, though concluded in mortal terms, endures in the hearts of those she touched. Let her memory be a guiding star, her laughter the music that plays on within the chamber of thoughts and recollections, her love the eternal flame that burns in the hearth of those she cherished.
As we bid farewell, not in sorrow but with gratitude, we celebrate the life of Lesa—a woman as rare as the fairest bloom, whose essence will forever grace the world she has left. Her legacy, an unending poem of love and service, inscribed forever in the annals of time.
Rest now, Lesa Marie Simkins, in the cradle of eternity. Your spirit, carried on the wings of angels, flies beyond the mortal coil, to dance amongst the stars and find repose in the everlasting. Your life, a masterpiece penned by the hand of fate, remains with us, a beacon of love's enduring light.
