Lewis Edward Lipes

Lewis Edward Lipes Sr. of Scotts, MI passed away on Monday, June 13, 2022, at the age of 81. Lewis was born in Eagle Rock, Virginia on February 10, 1941, to Eddly Harvey and Ruby Lee (Ford) Lipes. He was a Specialist in the United States Army, and former race car builder and mechanic, and retired from Mead after many years of service. He was united in marriage with Patricia Louise Lipes on February 28, 1960.

He is survived by siblings Albert Lipes, Virginia Robertson, Bobby Lipes, Barbara Klinfelter, Ray Lipes, his 5 children, Edward (Sharon) Lipes Jr., Annie (Jeff) Reicherts, Joyce (James) Ashley, Sheri (Paul) Meadows, Terri (Scott) Connor, 13 grandchildren, Brandon Lipes, Ashleigh Lipes, Heather (Michael) Kirkpatrick, Kerri (Chris) Totten, Katherine (William) Whitehead, Carolyn (Brandon) Heighton, John Connor, Stephanie Ashley, Garrett Meadows, Doug Connor, Kayla (Lance) Ackley, Mackenzie Connor, Jacob Reicherts, 15 great-grandchildren, Rylee Kirkpatrick, Lucas Totten, Lilly Totten, Allison Feathers, Reece Kirkpatrick, Hazel Rae Whitehead, Greyson Heighton, Logan Totten, Harper Whitehead, Lincoln Heighton, Layla Totten, Ava Lipes, Harley Whitehead, Ella Ackley, and Simon Heighton.  

He was preceded in passing by his wife Patricia, their son Paul Lipes, and siblings Shirley Carr, Edie (Harvey) Lipes, Robert Lipes, Charles (Calven) Lipes, Jerry Lipes, Gene Lipes.

Lewis loved helping others and spent as much time as he could being outdoors and visiting with his great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Wings Home Hospice Residence.

In accordance with Lewis' wishes a public graveside service will be held at Gilson Cemetery of Climax, MI on Friday, June 17, 2022, beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Brian Lutz officiating.
