Lois Ellen Bauman-Wood Born July 13, 1931 - Died February 23, 2024 at the age of 92. She was born to James B and Winifred Whitney in Farmington Michigan, and was the last of 7 children all of whom preceded her in death.

She was married to Eugene E. Bauman May 27, 1950 until his death January 12, 1997. Finding love again she married Frank A. Wood on October 16, 1999, who also preceded her in death November 19, 2023. Lois and Eugene had 5 children; surviving her are Lois G (David) Martin, Winifred (Fred) Garza, and Peggy (Jerry) Merrill. She was preceded in death by her sons Carl (Diana) Bauman, and Royce (Lorrie) Bauman. Lois and Frank enjoyed their lives with a blended family including Bruce (Angela) Wood and Vicki Wood.  She was preceded in death by Kenneth Wood, Wayne (Donnita) Wood, and Londa (Michael) Bassett. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Lois worked for the State of Michigan for more than 30 years, starting as a switchboard operator at the Kalamazoo State Hospital and retiring in 1995 as a computer analyst clerk at the Michigan Unemployment Agency. After retirement, she travelled all over the US while completing mission work with MAPS, visiting 49 out of the 50 states. She enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, and reading mysteries. She also spent a lot of time researching genealogy to put together a Whitney family tree.
