Lois K Siler passed away peacefully at home on March 11, 2014. She was born August 16, 1935 in Hamilton, OH. A resident of Portage, MI since 1966. She was devoted to her Lord and Savior and her family. She was a consummate homemaker. She had a God-given gift of playing the piano and willingly shared her talent in the church for 60 years. She loved bowling and bowled for over 40 years on 2 weekly leagues at Airway Lanes. She was a member of Centerpoint Church, Kalamazoo, MI. She loved Panera Bread. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Leon Siler. Her parents, Rev. Edgar Schooley and Ida Mae Schooley. Her brothers, Eldon Schooley, Joseph (Liz) Schooley, Norman (Margaret) Schooley, David Schooley. Her sisters, Mary Ruth (Lloyd) Crawford, Miriam Hazard, Betty (Glenn) Harmon. She is survived by her daughters and a son-in-law, Rhonda Siler and Lisa (Allen) Brooks of Portage, MI. Her sisters, Nell Bowlin, Carol (Bo) Bowcock of Hamilton, OH. Her brothers, Edgar (Nell) Schooley Jr. of Fairfield, OH, Robert (Janice) Schooley of Greenville, OH, Richard (Kathi) Schooley of Hamilton, OH and her brother-in-law, James R. Siler of Santa Barbara, CA. Many nieces and nephews as well as many friends. Cremation has taken place through Avink Funeral Home, Schoolcraft, MI. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 19 at 11 am. Centerpoint Church, 2345 N 10th St, Kalamazoo. Family and friends may visit with the family from 10-11 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the American Cancer Society or the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission.
