Lynda Fisher Boone

Lynda Fisher Boone, 80, of Southern Pines, North Carolina passed away peacefully in Michigan September 26, 2023. She was born June 23, 1943 in San Francisco, California, the daughter of Conard C. and Eden A. Fisher.  She grew up in Oakland, graduated from Oakland High School followed by earning her teaching credential for English and Fine Arts. Lynda began a very successful art career in her early 20’s drawing & painting Hawaiian children, landscapes, animals and many other beautiful pieces. Lynda studied the art of cooking in the Napa Valley & France.

Lynda taught High School Art and English in CA and Hawaii where she met the love of her life, John Mark Boone III. They married June 21, 1969 at the Naval Chapel on Treasure Island, CA. Lynda & Mark had one daughter, Christianna Kea Boone-Lahr and 2 grandchildren were born Mary Eden Lahr (2007) and Mark Patrick Lahr (2010).

Lynda, Mark & Christy enjoyed living on their beautiful Rocky Top Ranch in Santa Rosa, CA until moving to Maresfield Farm in Southern Pines, NC in 1989. Lynda & Mark enjoyed traveling back to Hawaii every year for vacation as well as to Europe, the United Kingdom and many other places within the US. Lynda had a passion for all animals, especially horses.  Lynda used this talent for creating magnificent artwork that was and still is sought out in NC and CA. 

In 2022, Lynda came to live in Michigan to be near her grandchildren who were adopted by Heather (Lynda’s niece) & Rex Simpson in 2016 after the death of their father, Frank Lahr and subsequent death of their mother Christy.  Lynda’s warm heart filled many lives across the country and she will be greatly missed.  Lynda is survived by her 2 grandchildren, Mary & Mark Lahr, her sister, Nancy & W. Albert Colhoun of Tahoe City, CA and her brother in law, Dan K. & Marshall Metts Boone.  

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 11:00 AM at her church, Brownson Memorial Presbyterian Church, 330 S. May St. Southern Pines, NC followed by a reception. Aloha
