Mae Tien Fowler

Tien-Fowler, Mae (nee Mills) Mae Tien Fowler, 91, of Plainwell, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 13, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John Tien, daughter-in-law Marjie Tien, and great grandson Jeremy Tien. Born March 6, 1929 to Roy and Lettie Mills of Chicago, IL and Martin, MI Mae was one of 8 children, raised in a home that honored God’s Word. Mae was known for her calm, kind demeanor, a woman of utmost character. Always fashionable, she enjoyed her work for 20 years at Hudsons. Mae enjoyed playing the piano and organ. She loved her hardworking first husband John, with whom she lovingly raised 6 children and delighted in a second marriage late in life to Ken Fowler. Mae is missed dearly by her husband of 11 years, Ken Fowler; children: Gary Tien, Cherie (Don) Holland, Cindy (Gary) DeGraaf, Randy (Deb) Tien, Russell (Brenda) Tien, and Kristie (Ted) Manning; 16 grandchildren and 24 Great grandchildren. We, her family take great comfort knowing mom is alive today, made perfect, reunited with her Godly family who passed on before her, and is rejoicing in the love, light and person of Jesus Christ. Psalm 116:15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his faithful servants. Proverbs 31:28-31 Her children rise up and call her blessed; husband praises her as well: “Many daughters have done noble things, but you surpass them all!” Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. Give her the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her at the gates. A visitation will be held on Friday, June 19 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the McCowen & Secord Funeral Home; Marshall & Gren Chapel, 120 S. Woodhams St. Plainwell, MI 49080 (269-685-5881). A private service and graveside are being planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Faith Hospice.
