Marcia Jean Gray

Formerly of Richland Marcia was born March 5, 1931 in Kalamazoo. She was preceded in death by her parents Percy and Elizabeth (Drake) Gray of Richland, her brother Jack A. Susan Casarez (Paul Apodaca) of Albuquerque, Jacqueline (Bob) Kirshman of Augusta, sister-in-law Ruby Gray of Hickory Corners, former sister-in-law and friend Gloria Korman of Portage, along with several great nieces and nephews. Marcia graduated from Schoolcraft High School and Parsons Business School. Before her retirement she lived in Cincinnati, OH where she worked as an administrative assistant, taking her all over the US, to Canada and Europe. She returned to Michigan to live in Richland for several years. Marcia was known for her love of all animals, especially cats and horses. She will be remembered by her nieces for her sense of style and feisty, independent personality. She was always interested in and proud of her ancestral heritage of Benjamin and Maria Drake, first white settlers in Oshtemo Township. The family would like to thank Great Lakes Hospice and Medilodge of Portage for their loving care of Marcia. Marcia has been cremated and there will be a private burial at Mountain Home Cemetery with her parents. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to an animal rescue of your choice.
