Marcia C. Meyer

Although she was taken from her loved ones much too soon, Marcia Meyer was truly beautiful on the inside and out. She had a heart that was as big as they come, and her zest for life was truly contagious. Marcia was blessed to share much of her life with her husband, and together they were thrilled to welcome their daughter, Andrea, into their hearts and home. A longtime resident of the community she loved, she will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by all who were blessed to feel her touch. Life in America during the 1970s was an eventful time. The Vietnam War came to an end, but the Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union only gained momentum. The voting age was lowered from 21 to 18, and the first microprocessor was released by Intel. It was during this eventful time that Wendell Millard and Roberta "Bert" Arndt were filled with great anticipation as they were eagerly awaiting the birth of their new baby as the heat of the summer held the city of Battle Creek, Michigan, firmly in its grip. Their wait was finally over on July 22, 1975, when the baby girl they named Marcia Coreen drew her first breath. She was the youngest of four children in her family as she was raised in the family home in the Luther, Michigan, area alongside her siblings, Sondra and Beth. Then when she was in her 20's she met her half-brother, Denny. In many ways, Marcia was a young girl of her generation. Her father did some construction work while her mother worked in a factory. Marcia attended local schools where she played volleyball and was also a member of the National Honor Society. After graduating from Pine River High School in 1993, she attended college in the Kalamazoo area. New and exciting changes were in store for Marcia when she met the young man of her dreams. His name was Terry Meyer, and they met in the mid-nineties. They began dating, and it didn't take the couple long to fall in love. With a desire to spend the rest of their lives together they were married on May 31, 1997, at the Schoolcraft United Methodist Church in Schoolcraft. In addition, Marcia's life was also made complete with the birth of her daughter, Andrea. Throughout her life Marcia was always busy. Marcia worked for 14 years at Summit Polymers. The last six years as a purchasing coordinator. Marcia absolutely loved taking pictures, and she also enjoyed traveling and snowmobiling. When it came to music, she enjoyed listening to just about anything, but if given the choice she generally would choose country music. Marcia was a good cook and could make just about anything, but deviled eggs were her among her specialties. She collected Archie glasses and state spoons as well as pins from the Hard Rock Café. Purple was her favorite color. All who knew Marcia Meyer would agree that she was one of the funniest people around. She loved making others laugh, and she was outgoing, giving, and friendly, too. Marcia was honest and open with the ability to put those around her at ease. Loving and kind, she was a gift to those around her. Life will never be the same without her here, but she leaves behind a priceless collection of memories that her loved ones will forever hold near and dear to their hearts. Marcia C. Meyer, of Schoolcraft passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018. Marcia's family includes her husband, Terry; daughter Andrea; parents, Wendell and Bert Millard, of WI; siblings: Sondra Smith, of Schoolcraft, Beth (Mike) Dennison, of IN, and Denny Millard, of IN. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 - 4 p.m. at the McCowen & Secord Family Funeral Homes, Rupert-Durham Chapel, 409 S. Main Street, Vicksburg (269-649-1697). A funeral service will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial at Schoolcraft Cemetery.
