Died February 11, 2011 at Bronson Hospital. Margaret was born October 13, 1920 in Jackson, MI, the daughter of Leo & Sadie (Ratliff) Judy. Margaret trained & worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years. She lived her adult life in Kalamazoo, MI where, in her younger days, she enjoyed dancing, playing cards, camping, fishing, watching baseball & listening to classical music. With her beloved friend of 54 years, Olive Apter (deceased), they traveled to all 48 continental US states.
As called by her friends, Judy enjoyed painting with acrylics & her bright canvasses decorated walls in her apartment & were given to friends. Margaret was known as loudly outspoken & sometimes famously crabby, but she became more gentle & patient in her later years. Aunt Jeano, as she was known to her family, was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers: Lowell Judy & John Judy, her sister: Hilda Simms & her niece Julia Briggs. Margaret is survived by many nieces & nephews & great nieces & great nephews. She is also survived by many dear friends including River & Diana Artz-Iffland, Ana Lallana (Argentina), Tommy Klema & her loving cat, Handsome. Although frustrated by physical limitations, she appreciated Laura Marlatt & Advantage Home Care workers, who helped her stay in her own apartment.
Cremation was arranged by Avink Funeral Home. Burial will be at Mt Everest Cemetery in Kalamazoo. A memorial service w ill be held in spring. Gifts in her memory can be made to Kalamazoo Animal Rescue.
