Marian Meeker

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of our mother, Marian Meeker, who left us on January 31, 2025 after a beautifully lived life of 92 years. Full of love, laughter, and resilience, she touched the lives of all who knew her. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. Her passion for gardening and her quiet spirit will forever be remembered. 

She is preceded by her husband James Meeker, daughter Sharon Johnson, and parents Anne (Newmyer) and Samuel Schreuder along with siblings, Henry, Mart, Annette, Winifred, Wilma, and Herman. Marian is survived by her sister Grace Shipe, her children: Karen (Dale) Thomas, Jerry (Karen Bainbridge) Meeker, Pamela (Michael) Watts, and Mike Johnson, grandchildren: Michael (Shannon) Johnson, Julia (David) Domroy, Kyle (Taryn) Watts, great grandchildren: Sidney (Chris) Baird, Noah & Sam Jassim, Michael Domroy, and Liam & Marian Watts, and great-great-grandkids: Addison & Brantley Baird. 

Abiding her wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no visitation or memorial. She asked that everyone plant a tree or flowers in her honor. A small family service will take place at Fort Custer in May 2025.
