Marietta R. Weirick

WEIRICK, Marietta (Debi) Age 76 Of Kalamazoo Passed away peacefully at Rose Arbor Hospice on May 1, 2010, after a nearly year long battle with lung cancer. Debi was born July 7, 1933 in Ann Arbor, MI, the daughter of Paul and Vera Gibson. After attending high school in Kalamazoo, she married Daniel Weirick on August 17, 1957. Debi was a career secretary first at WMU and then at the Kalamazoo Public Schools. Debi is survived by her husband Dan, two sons David (Joshua, Matthew and Cathryn), Mark and his wife Laura (Christin, Nicholas, Daniel and Claire), two sisters Marjorie Fillmore and Grace Newman, brother in law Richard Ellinger and niece Mary Bay. She was preceded in death by her sister Judy and brothers Paul and Cliff. A loving wife, mother, and friend, she will be missed by all. Memorial services will be held at Centerpoint Church, 2345 N. 10th Street, Oshtemo, MI on Wednesday, May 12th at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Rose Arbor Hospice or West Michigan Cancer Center.
