Marion Holdeman

Marion "Verne" Holdeman Passed away at the Alamo Nursing Friday, February 19, 2010. He was born May 26, 1929 in Pine Grove Township, Michigan. Parents are Mildred Morgan [Gilbert] and Martin Holdeman. He was a proud member of the United States Army from May 1946 to December 1951. He served in the Korean War. He was married to Mary Lou Holdeman [Enos]and had six children and three step-children.Surviving are His children, Joe [Marcia] Holdeman of Otsego, Bill [Therese] Holdeman of Plainwell, and Chris Holdeman of Kalamazoo. Step-children, Sandy [ Dave ] Hughes of Gobles, Sharon [Ken] Faulkenstein of Allegan, Debbie Moats of Kalamazoo a sister, Ruth Linihan of Kalamazoo., and many neices and nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by a daughter Barbie Croy, a sister, Mary Lou Voss and his parents. He has 19 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. In his younger years he spent his time at the area racetracks. He spent his retirement years fishing, hunting, watching Nascar races and driving the countryside.Due to his wishes, cremation has taken place with grave- side services to be held in May at the Fort Custer National Cementary.
