Marion Marie Vergho

Marion Vergho died January 3, 2019. She was born in Monroe, Michigan March 13, 1921 to Martin and Julia Boldt. She was one of eight siblings and the last survivor even though she was the fourth born. She had a twin brother Marvin who passed away when they were 32-years old, a very heart wrenching loss for her. She married Robert E. Vergho in Monroe on Dec. 23, 1939. They celebrated 52 years of marriage before his death on May 17, 1991. When her husband went to serve his country in World War II, she and her oldest sister moved to Toledo, Ohio to work for the war effort. She worked at Packard Motor Car Company making parts for airplanes and later at Save Electric making light bulbs. Her parents also helped by caring for her daughter Frances as well as her sister's daughter. She moved to Three Rivers in 1986 and could be seen about town on her trusty bicycle. She was a hard worker, doing all of her own housework and yard work well into her 80's. She was a devoted Christian, putting great faith in God through her Lutheran beliefs. She is survived by her beloved daughter Frances Rigel and her son-in-law Beryl Rigel. She is also survived by her granddaughters Kathryn Rigel (Steve Davis), Susan Tucker (Theodore), Christine Riedy (Phillip) and Jennifer Dickerson and her six great grandchildren, Kevin, Brian and Julie Riedy, Andrew Tucker and John and Elizabeth Dickerson; all of whom she loved very much. She especially loved being a great grandmother, and was amazed at how tall all of her great grandchildren were. She was only 4-foot-9 and she joked about how they all towered over her. Reverend Karleen Kinker will officiate a memorial service to be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, 56050 Buckhorn Road, Three Rivers, MI on January 19, 2019 at 11:00am. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in LaSalle, MI.at a later date.
