Mary (Littell) Lewman, 87, passed away on August 26, 2024, at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, MI, surrounded by her loving family.
Mary was born on December 15, 1936, in Vicksburg, MI, to Herbert and Renee (Valette) Littell. Mary married Raymond Lewman on Sept. 18, 1954. In addition to raising four children, she worked in the Galesburg - Augusta Schools for many years. In her retirement, she and Raymond spent many winters together in Avon Park, FL. Mary enjoyed music, dancing, playing cards, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the Bedford Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star from 1971 to the present.
Mary is survived by her children: Cindy (Steve, deceased) Roe, Tami (Dan) Carl, Jeanne Lewman, and Tim (Ottilie) Lewman; grandchildren: Joe (Aidyn) Carl, Danielle (Keith) Kolberg, Kelli Roe, Kevin (fiancé Emilie Richey) Roe, Brittni (Brent) Thomson, and Paige Winne; great grandchildren: Chiara Carl, Easton Carl, Madi Thomson, Brent Thomson III, and Kaiden Kolberg, as well as several nieces and nephews, cousins, and sisters-in-law.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Raymond; sister Cecelia Bilski; brothers Herbert, Raymond, Roland and Robert Littell; and her son-in-law Steve Roe.
Visit with family and friends on Saturday, September 14, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Congregational United Church of Christ at 22 South Church Street in Galesburg. A memorial service and celebration of Mary's life will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the same location. Private family interment will occur later.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mary's name to the Congregational United Church of Christ (CUCC), Shriners Children’s Hospital, or to any charity of your choice.
