Mary Jayne Olivier, age 89 of Vicksburg, passed away on November 1, 2020. She was born on December 8, 1930 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Jay Arthur Bergers and Margaret Elizabeth (Munro) Bergers. Mary Jayne was married for 62 years to Willard Paul Olivier who preceded her in death on November 25, 2015. Mary Jayne had three brothers who teased and dearly loved her: Jay A (Rosalie)Bergers of Zephyr Hills, FL and two with whom she will be gloriously reunited: Paul (Doris) Bergers and Jon Bergers. She is survived by her exceptional children: Gay (Kevin) Olivier-Lilley of San Diego, CA, Wade (Karen) Olivier of Okemos, MI, Lila Olivier Dunn of South Bend, IN; amazing grandchildren: David Lilley, Warren (Shannon)Olivier, Grace Olivier, Andrew Dunn, and Jonathan Lilley. Additionally, she is survived by sister-in-law, the entertaining Susan Bergers of Grand Rapids and several delightful nieces and nephews. She was a long time member of the Church of the Nazarene where she and her husband participated in many mission trips. She loved to travel, sing, read, and share her quick wit. She was quite a character! She enjoyed her job teaching in the English department at Grand Rapids Junior College. Family will not be present, but viewing time will be available on Thursday, November 5, from 4 pm - 7 pm for anyone who wishes to attend at the McCowen & Secord Funeral Home, Rupert-Durham Chapel, 409 South Main, Vicksburg, MI. In lieu of a service, a memorial will be held on a later date.
