Mary Esther (Cairns) Trimner, of Portage passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at the age of 86 surrounded by her family at Rose Arbor Hospice.
She was born August 28, 1933 to Vern and Hilda (Hofacker) Cairns. On January 5, 1952 she married John G. Trimner. They resided in Portage for over 60 years. Mary retired from Meijer and also was co-owner of Pineapple Lane Antiques and Collectibles in Marshall. She was very active in genealogy and an avid bird watcher. She was also a volunteer with Kalamazoo Senior Services.
Mary is survived by her three sons: Wayne, Keith (Debby), and Gregg Trimner, all of Kalamazoo; six grandchildren: Mickey Trimner, John Trimner, Steven Phenice, Patricia Trimner, Chantelle Parsons, and Joseph Trimner; great grandchildren: Aubry Phenice, Aiden Phenice, Liam Phenice, Shae Parsons, Anna Parsons, Annasia Parsons, Marquavion Parsons; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, six brothers, one sister, and her son Lloyd.
Mary has been cremated and will be buried at Fort Custer National Cemetery beside her husband John. The family will host a gathering in her honor on Sunday, November 17th, from 12pm-4pm at 2019 Byrd Drive, Portage.
