Matthew Lee Skalski, 34, Three Rivers, MI passed away May 14, 2021 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Matthew was born April 21, 1987 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI. He enjoyed going fishing, hiking, and camping with his family growing up. He was an avid reader and liked Stephen King books. He had an appreciation for plants. His grandmother Beverly Skalski taught him about plants and involved Matt and his sisters with growing plants and landscaping, he especially liked Bonzai plants. He worked in greenhouses from the time he was in high school. He had three sons and enjoyed teaching them about plants and animals, loved to catch frogs with them and have bonfires. Later in life Matt got his G.E.D. and was skilled with tools and worked doing roofing, tiling and construction. He was a good friend with a big heart, contagious smile, and a love for laughter, who did not judge others. He will forever be cherished, loved, and missed dearly by his family. He is survived by his children Andy, Shawn, and Aiden. His parents, Lynn Skalski of Three Rivers, MI and Regina Williamson Elkhart, IN. His sisters Tristan Ricardo of Kalamazoo and Jaimie Hartmann of Jacksonville, FL and a niece and nephews. There will be a trust fund set up for his children in the near future for anyone who wishes to make a donation on Facebook.
