WILLIAMS, Maurine B.
Plainwell
Maurine passed away peacefully Wednesday morning March 19, 2014. She was a gracious, kind and patient person with a warm loving smile. Maurine was born Oct. 10, 1935 in Seminole, Oklahoma. She studied music for 13 years and was an accomplished classical pianist and church organist. She loved gardening, sewing and was the best friend a stray cat could ever find as she rescued and nurtured many into new healthy homes. She co-founded the construction of the Lake Doster Tennis courts and operated that program for many years. However her greatest love and joy came from being with her family where she was wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. As a Christian she was active in several churches during her life, most recently the Gull Lake Area Community Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sterling and Bernice Neeley and her brother Dwight Neeley. She is survived by her husband Virgil Williams, children Mark (Jilisa) Williams, Kim (Mike) Avery and Scott (Dee) Williams, grandchildren Shaun (Allison), Kyle and Reid Williams, Austin and Ashly Avery, Holly (Eric) Byers, Amy (Sean) Parchman, Carli Williams, great-grandchildren Lexi and Ashley Byers and Bennett and Sullivan Williams. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be held Thursday, March 27 at the Gull Lake Area Community Church, 9292 E Cd Ave, Richland. Friends may visit with the family from 10-11am, with a memorial service at 11am followed immediately by a luncheon at the Church. Memorial contributions in Maurine's honor may be made to the Gull Lake Area Community Church.
