Melvin Veldt, of Kalamazoo passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at the age of 64. Melvin was born on April 3, 1958 in Paw Paw. He was the son of Harm and Virginia Veldt.
Being raised his entire life on a cattle farm, Melvin was no stranger to hard work and chores. He completed his schooling at Brimley High School in the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Melvin was the youngest of 4 siblings. He loved all animals and it didn’t matter what kind. He would be the first to tell you he didn’t care for pickles though. Hard working and always willing to help anyone in need. . . He was kind to a fault. Melvin was a loving son, a caring brother, an adoring father and grandpa and always a true friend to all. He will be missed by all who came in contact with him . . . he left an imprint in everyone’s heart.
Preceding him in his passing are his parents: Harm & Virginia Veldt.
Surviving are siblings: Calvin (Suzie) Veldt, Alvin Veldt, and Lena Veldt; his daughters: Jenny (Andrew) Lentz and Jessica (Jerry) Peterson; also grandchildren: Cameron, Alex, and Logan Lentz, Jerry III and Taylor Peterson.
Melvin is being cremated and no services are scheduled at this time.
