Michael H. Strong, 77, passed away peacefully at his home with his wife Linda and daughter Lynnette beside him. He had cancer and COPD for a long time. He was the son of Neal and Dorothy Strong. Both his parents preceded him in death. He has two brothers: Edward (Joanna) Strong of Arizona and William Strong of Traverse City, Michigan. He helped to establish the preschool in Schoolcraft as well as the first Tee ball teams for younger kids. He was a Scout leader and then a Scoutmaster of Troop 250 in Schoolcraft. Michael worked at Burroughs manufacturing in Kalamazoo, Fullers Transmission in Kalamazoo, and General Motors in both Kalamazoo and Lansing. He retired at age sixty and restored old gas pumps in his spare time. He sold them to people all over the country and a few in other countries as well. Both he and his wife vended at many car shows and swap meets and sold all the items he had restored to new. He really liked helping people by fixing things. He and his wife built their home in 1973 and have continued to do updates as needed. He was preceded in death by his son Steve Strong; his dad Neal in June and his mom 15 years ago as well as many aunts and uncles.
Cremation has taken place and due to Covid, there will not be a memorial at this time. A memorial may be planned after the pandemic is over. Please send any donations to the Kalamazoo Cancer Center or Hospice Care of South West Michigan.
