Milan "Bob" Holt
of Kalamazoo
Milan Robert Holt, 88, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 2, 2017.
He was born on May 16, 1928, in Kalamazoo, the son of Merritt Luther Holt and the former Gertrude Minnie Elgersma. Bob was employed for 42 years by the James River Paper Company as a cutting pressman. His hobbies included woodworking, gardening, electric trains, archery, fishing and metal detecting. He loved the Lord and was a faithful witness for Him wherever he went. On May 24, 1946, he was married to Doris Jones, who survives him. Also surviving are five children: Mike (Marcia) Holt of Jenison, Bobbi (Bill) Truesdell of Schoolcraft, Dan (Beth) Holt of Kalamazoo, Scott (Teresa) Holt of Kalamazoo and Andy (JoAnn) Holt of Kalamazoo. He is also survived by a sister, Phyllis Smith, of Vicksburg, ten grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Preceding him in death was another son, Steven. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Bob Holt will be held at the Kalamazoo Covenant Church, 5708 East Main, Kalamazoo, MI, on Wednesday, February 8 at 3:30 p.m. The service will be preceded by a visitation beginning at 2:30 p.m. and immediately followed by a reception.
