Mitchell VanKruiningen III passed away on December 17th, 2023. He was 77 years old. Mitch was born to Mitchell and Nancy (Frazier) VanKruiningen Jr. in Kalamazoo, Michigan on December 14, 1946.
After graduation, Mitch enlisted in the United States Army for three years where he served in Vietnam and Germany. After being honorably discharged from the service, Mitch returned to his hometown of Vicksburg, Michigan, where he became an electrician with IBEW Local 131 until retirement.
Mitch had several interests and hobbies including water skiing, snow skiing and collecting model cars. He also enjoyed working with his brother, Dennis, on the family farm.
Mitchell was preceded in death by his father Mitchell VanKruiningen Jr., and his mother Nancy (Frazier) VanKruiningen. Mitch leaves behind a brother, Dennis James VanKruiningen of Vicksburg, MI and a sister, Sue (VanKruiningen) VerMeulen and brother-in-law Bill VerMeulen, of Scotts, MI. He is also survived by his niece Michelle (VerMeulen) Cannon and Grant Cannon of Kalamazoo, nephew Tyson VerMeulen and Cheryl (Franke) VerMeulen of Scotts, niece Tresa (VerMeulen) Kruis and James Kruis of Kalamazoo, and niece Susan (VanKruiningen) Mckoy of Hastings. Several cousins, along with numerous great nieces and nephews.
A private graveside burial service was held at Schoolcraft Township Cemetery in Vicksburg with military honor guard on December 21st.
