Nancy Jo Vandergeest

Nancy Jo Vandergeest, of Three Rivers passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at the age of 77. Nancy was born on June 13, 1944 in Boise, ID. She was the only child of William and Patricia Howe. Nancy was a graduate of Loy Norrix High School with the Class of 1962. After high school she met the love of her life, Stuart Vandergeest while at Wayside Bowling Alley. They married on March 3, 1967. She was loving and full time stay at home mother to their three children: Jody, Tim, and Mark. She worked for a period of time at Fannie Mae, but it was her time volunteering at Three Rivers Hospital that she really enjoyed. Nancy loved crossword puzzles, reading, planting and working on her flowers, caring for her chickens and her dogs. She entered many of her flowers in the St. Joseph County Fair. A big important time for Nancy was spending time with her grandchildren. Nancy is survived by her husband of 54 years, Stuart; three children: Jody (Bob) Morgan, of Jones; Tim Vandergeest, of Wyoming, MI; Mark Vandergeest, of Milford; two grandchildren: Jason and Erin Morgan of Jones. Nancy is preceded in death by her father, William “Bill” Howe and mother Patricia (Harold) Hagerman. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 16th from 11am until 1pm at the McCowen & Secord Funeral Home, 409 South Main, Vicksburg, MI.
