Natalie Smith

Natalie Smith, of Kalamazoo passed away on Wednesday, May 9th, 2018 at the age of 97. She was born on September 8, 1920 in Riga, Latvia. She was the daughter of Nickelai and Maria Guba. In 1945 she married Eugene Smith. Natalie was a member of the Milwood United Methodist Church. She is survived by her six children: Marina (Nelson) Curtis, of Kalamazoo; Helen Deurloo, of Delton; Eugene (Pat) Smith, of Kalamazoo; Frank (Janene) Smith, of OH; George (Nancy) Smith, of Portage; Harriet (Roy) Stafford, of Schoolcraft; 12 grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Eugene and grandson Steven Stafford. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11am at the McCowen & Secord Family Funeral Homes, 5975 Lovers Lane, Portage (269-344-5600). The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service starting at 11am. Burial at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
