Mansberger, Neale W SGT "Manny"
of Kalamazoo
Passed away suddenly on Monday, August 1, 2011 at his home. He was born in Kalamazoo, MI on June 9, 1960 to Harry and Joyce (Harder) Mansberger, who preceded him in death. He was an Iraq war veteran who proudly served his country in the US Army for 20 years until his honorable discharge on July 31, 2009. Neale was a unique and deeply-loved man, devoted to his friends and family, passionate about music, cars, and cooking, and always ready with a good story. He will be sorely missed. He is survived by his wife Kim Sutton of Clarksville, TN; two brothers, Mark (Nancy) Mansberger of Paw Paw, MI, Brett (Trina) Mansberger of Portage, MI and a sister, Lynnette (Dan) Sterkenburg of Xenia, OH; his five nephews, a niece, a grandnephew, a grandniece, two step-nieces, a step-daughter, two step grandchildren; cousins, an aunt and uncles and a former spouse, Kathleen Conklin.
An informal gathering to share stories of Neale's life will be held on Saturday, August 6, noon (12:00 pm) at the Little Theatre, WMU East campus, 798 Oakland Dr (at the corner of Oliver Lane and Oakland Dr), followed by a celebration at the home of Marty LaCasse in Richland, MI. Military graveside services will be held on Monday, August 8, 2011, 1:30 pm at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Battle Creek, MI.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the family to help defray funeral costs.
