Norma Jean (Carpenter)Fruehauf Norma Jean (Carpenter) Fruehauf peacefully passed away on October 13, 2016. Norma was born on November 28, 1931 in Niles, Michigan to Lloyd and Evelyn Carpenter. Her surviving siblings are: Janet (Larry) Barr, Denny (Janice) Carpenter, Lynette (John) Miller, and brother in law Bob Mitchell. Norma was united in marriage to Emil (Roy) Fruehauf on January 17, 1952; who proceeded her in death. Also proceeding in death are her siblings; Don (Margie) Carpenter, Carmen Mitchell, and son in law Dave Searles . She was a homemaker and a loving mother to her children: Becky, Mike (Michelle), Dick (Judy), Jeff (Jami), Dan (Gail), Vicky (Gene), Jerry, and Tom (Karla), several grandchildren, great grand children, nieces and nephews. Norma enjoyed crocheting, bowling, jigsaw puzzles, polka dancing, and flower gardens. She and Roy enjoyed going to the Eagles Lodge #526. Family gatherings wIth her children and grandchildren brought her great joy. Many Fourth of July celebrations, found her family and their many friends grilling and playing whiffle ball. She went to numerous family softball games where she was known to keep score with rocks. She found comfort in listening and humming to classic country music. Visitation will be Monday, October 17th from 3:00 - 7:00 at Avink Funeral Home and Cremation Society in Schoolcraft, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice.
