Norma Jean Manley

Norma Jean Manley went home to her Lord and Savior, peacefully in her home Tuesday, January 24, 2023.

Norma was born in Kalamazoo, MI, November 8, 1951 to Lloyd and Joyce (VenHuis) Harber. Raised in a Vicksburg, MI home built by her father, she enjoyed a childhood full of outdoor play and roller skating with her older sister, younger brother, and friends. Most people found it hard to believe her stories of being a shy child.

In 1973, Norma married Terry Reynolds of Vicksburg. Although the marriage was not forever, their daughter Jennifer was her pride and joy. Norma enjoyed dancing with friends and was the fun-loving, life of the party. While out one night, she met Victor Dwayne Manley. They married January 18, 1980. Vic's two daughters from a previous marriage, Tina and Rose, were a blessing to her family.

Through the years, Norma and Vic enjoyed lots of time in his Fife Lake cabins, gong to NASCAR races, and watching football games. The couple spent several years living near the ocean in new Smyrna Beach, Florida. As she always did, Norma made many friends in the community. When a health scare forced them to evaluate life, Norma and Vic began attending church and devoted their lives to Christ. Eventually, the Manleys moved back to Vicksburg, MI. They became active in church events there and enjoyed fellowship at the Indian Lake Nazarene Campground.

On September 7, 2015, Vic was called home after a heart attack. Norma leaned into her family and community of believers. Norma adored spoiling her grandkids as much as she loved chocolate (especially peanut butter cups). She stayed connected with friends over the years and active in church, but Norma's heart was always at home, where she could be comfortable.

She is survived by her daughter: Jennifer, stepdaughters: Tina and Rose, sons-in-law: Larry and Shane, brother: Jim, grandchildren: Brandon, Anna, Ashley, Brian, Avalon, Harber, and Azariah. She was preceded in death by her sister: Nancy, Husband: Vic, parents: Lloyd and Joyce Harber.

Always willing to share a laugh, Norma's will be missed the most.

A memorial service will be held at Prairie Baptist Church of Scotts, MI on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 11:00 AM, with a light luncheon following.
