Norma L. Sabin
age 82, of Vicksburg, Michigan, passed away at Rose Arbor Hospice Home in Kalamazoo, MI, December 25, 2009 with her loving husband at her side.
She was born August 2, 1927, in Brookfield, Michigan, the daughter of the late Thelma and Louis Hardwick. She was the third of four siblings. She married Milford C. Sabin, who survives.
She graduated from Marshall High School in 1944 and married Milford C. Sabin, On October 24, 1946, at Albion Michigan.
She is survived by her husband Milford Sabin, of Vicksburg MI, her daughter and son-in-law, Lloyd and Claudia Jackson, of Wayland MI, her two sons and daughter-in-laws, Tim and Karen Sabin, of Three Rivers, MI, and Scott and Cathy Sabin, of Portage, MI. Her four grand children, Jennifer, Justin, Jessica, and Cameron, and five great-grandchildren, her brother and sister-in-law Robert and Charlene Hardwick, of DeWitt, MI, her sister Alice Corso, of Indianapolis, IN, and her half brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Rita Weers, of Pacific, MO, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Thelma Hardwick, her infant son, Mark Sabin, grandson, Jeremy Sabin, and unadopted son Mike Helt.
Norma had many interests, she spent countless hours sewing clothes for the kids. In later years, she turned that sewing into a business making dolls, and scarecrows. She later started collecting dolls, books, and many other interesting things. She loved her craft and doll shows, flea markets, and garage sales. To visit the house is to tour a really neat museum.
In accordance with Norma's wishes, a cremation has occurred and there will be no viewing. A Celebration of Life Service is planned for Friday, January 8, 2010, at the Centreville United Methodist Church in Centreville Michigan, at 1:oo pm. Dr. Pastor Karin Orr will be officiating.
