Opal Lula Hokanson, 92 of Marcellus, Michigan passed away Friday, October 23rd, 2020 at Heartland Healthcare, Three Rivers, MI.
Opal was born in Washburn, Maine on September 13th, 1928 the daughter of Alex and Lula (plissy) Barker.
On January 14th, 1956 in Maine she married Eugene Carl Hokanson who survives.
Opal was a loving mother and homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Outside of the home, she was a member of the American Legion Post 615 (Tinley Park, IL.) and was their Auxiliary President in 1976.
Opal is survived by her husband Eugene Hokanson; daughter Jeanie (Roy) Burch of Illinois; four sons Alphonse Hokanson of Florida, Carl Hokanson of Illinois, Jimmy Hokanson of Marcellus, Robert Hokanson of Marcellus; brother Gary (Joyce) Barker of Benton Harbor; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Opal is preceded in death by nine siblings.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial donations may be directed to the Marcellus Food Pantry. Online condolences may be left at www.materralstonfuneralhome.com .
