Otis Frederick Harper

HARPER, Otis F. Vicksburg Passed away Saturday May 11, 2013 at Rose Arbor Hospice. Otis was born Sept. 4, 1927 to the late Raymond and Katherine Saye Harper Darling and step-father Ezra Darling. Otis lived most of his life in the Vicksburg area. He was a graduate of Vicksburg High School. After serving in the US Navy he married his wife of 61 years the late Marilyn Miller. Otis worked many years for Simpson Paper Co. living in Ripon, CA and Valley Forge, PA before retiring to Vicksburg. Otis loved spending time with his family, fishing, hunting and raising a large garden. Otis is survived by 2 sons; David (Paula) Harper of Vicksburg, and Barry (Jade) Harper of Ripon, CA; 3 granddaughters; Vickie (Joe) Shackelford of Vicksburg, Lori (Jason) Hall of Mendon and Brook Donaldson of Ripon, CA., 4 great grandsons and 2 great granddaughters, a sister; Marie Wessling, a sister-in-law; Betty Harper. Otis is also preceded in death by 2 brothers; Lester and Ferris, a brother-in-law; Harold Wessling A memorial service will be held 11am Saturday May 25, 2013 at the Center Park United Methodist Church in Three Rivers. Burial will be private. Memorials may be sent to Rose Arbor Hospice care of Southwest Michigan Hospice.
