Patricia Brown

Patricia Ann Brown born on January 16, 1946 - in Osceola AR, to the union of George and Vergie Robinson.  Patricia departed this life on September 15, 2022, due to a brief illness.  Patricia more affectionally known as Pat, moved to Benton Harbor, MI at a very early age. 

Pat was a 1964 graduate of Benton Harbor High School, and upon graduation from High School Pat enrolled in the Nursing Program at Lake Michigan College where she obtained her LPN license.

Pat worked as a Nurse for more than 50 years.  During her 50 plus years of service – Pat worked at Mercy Hospital, Auto Specialties, Whirlpool Corporation, Bohn Aluminum, Bosch, and retired as a Deputy Jail Nurse for the Berrien County Jail.

Pat had a very nurturing spirit and was known for “taking care of everyone”.  She took great value in ensuring that everyone was comfortable and had whatever they needed.  Pat enjoyed cooking, gardening and was especially known for making her secret recipe sweet tea.  Pat was a faithful member of New Bethel Baptist Church under the Leadership of Reverend Maurice Mcafee.

It would be wrong to say that Pat lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined. When anyone else would have broken, Pat stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly looks like. There was no quit in Pat.

Pat is survived by her husband Calvin and their children, Kimberly Hood Ryan, Keith (Tamesha) Brown, Caryn Brown, and Corliss (DeWayne) Williams, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren nieces, nephews, family and friends.  As well as her beloved sisters Priscilla Robinson, Regina Robinson, and Esterlena (Vonzell) Batchelder.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents George and Vergie Robinson, and her a brother Melvin (Cora) Robinson.

A Memorial for Pat will be held at a later date.
