Patricia Ruth Carpenter

CARPENTER, Patricia R. Galesburg Passed away Saturday March 24, 2012 at her home with her family. Pat had been in failing health for the past 10 months. She was born Dec. 27, 1927 IN Chicago, IL to the late Gladys (Doyle) Cartwright and Raymond Cartwright. She moved to the Galesburg area as a teenager where she resided for the remainder of her life. In 1989 she retired from the Eaton Valve Division of Battle Creek after 38 years of service. Pat and her husband enjoyed many years of retirement together traveling the U.S. in their motor home. Surviving is her husband of 64 years, Kenneth D. Carpenter, son Michael (Dawn) Carpenter of Galesburg, grandsons Ryan (Kelly) Carpenter of Elmhurst, IL and Ross Carpenter of Galesburg. Also surviving is a sister, Sharon Martinez of Kerrville, TX. Preceding Pat in death was her sister Norine (Mickey) Quick. A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, April 4th at 1pm at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Galesburg. A luncheon will follow the service. Interment will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be directed to the Congregational United Church of Christ in Galesburg.
