Pat passed away Thursday, April 8, 2010 in Kalamazoo, MI. She was born December 25, 1931 in Detroit to Ferris and Lucille Clark. Shortly after the family returned to Lake Orion where Pat graduated from high school in
1950. Pat married her high school sweet-heart C.A. "Duke" Dudley in the Lake Orion Methodist Church June 30, 1951. Pat traveled to Cherry Point, North Carolina with Duke during his two years in the U.S. Marine Corps. After completing his enlistment, they returned to Lake Orion and lived there until after retirement in 1989. Pat was first a wife and mother, but she
also worked outside of the home as a cook for the schools, on the assembly line of an appliance maker, in a ceramics studio, and as a clerk for both GM and the Guest House. Around Lake Orion Pat was known for
her baking. She had a small
business baking pastries and decorating cakes. When remodeling the house, Pat paid for a new kitchen floor by baking pies for The Villa, a local restaurant. Pat and Duke moved to Greenbush, MI upon retiring and spent several years traveling in their motor home, from Brownsville, TX, up the Alaska highway, down the Mississippi on a barge,
to Florida and Nova Scotia.
They were active members
of the Michiganders. Pat and Duke were also active in
Lions and the Harrisville Methodist Church. Preceding her in death were her parents; brother, Wes Clark; and daughter, Vicki Dudley. Surviving is her husband, Duke; her son, Mike (Kim) Dudley of Mattawan, Craig Dudley of The Woodlands, TX. and Tim (Rhonda) Dudley of Magnolia, TX. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, Kyrene (Brian) Ward, Allyson (Todd) Lutz, Sarah Dudley, Rachel Dudley, Cameron Dudley, Jordan Dudley, Keenan Dudley, Aidan Dudley, Michelle Dudley, Blake Dudley and Kyle Dudley; and great-grandson, Austin Ward. Pastor Ed Stewart will officiate over a memorial service to be held at 12:30 PM on Sunday, May 16, at Lawton Community Center. The family will receive family and friends beginning at 11:30 AM. Following the service, there will be a time for fellowship and lunch. Cremation service was provided by Avink Funeral Home Cremation Society of Schoolcraft, MI, 269-679-5622. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to The American Heart Association at www.americanheart.org or the Arthritis Foundation at www.arthritis.org.
