Patricia Ann MacLeod

Patricia Seaman MacLeod was born January 10, 1933 in Racine, Wisconsin, and passed November 1, 2014 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She's was known as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband Kendall, her son Kenneth (and daughter-in-law, Christy), her daughter Margaret, and grandson, Kenneth Colin MacLeod. Pat, an honor student, attended Lake Forest College? (Lake Forest, Ill) with a focus on biology and became secretary of Beta Beta Beta, the National Biology Honorary Society as well as a member of the Alpha Phi Sorority, remaining active in Kalamazoo's Alumni Association. Henry Ford Hospital brought Pat in as a research-oriented medical technician. Alongside her research, she famously babysat the children of the Detroit Lions'. It was during that era, she met her husband, Kendall, at Detroit's Metropolitan Methodist church. On July 1, 1961, Patricia and Kendall married at the church in which they met, and settled happily in Kalamazoo by 1962. Pat later enjoyed a career in real estate and as a notary public, and then returned to her healthcare passions with Blue Care network. Her love of medicine and healing kept her at work at IRDC of Mattawan, Michigan as a histology technician until she retired. Pat was a member of the Portage Women's Club for over 40 years, a member of the Board of Directors for Susan G Komen Southwest Michigan as well as Membership Chair for many years. She received the Southwest Michigan Race for the Cure Outstanding Survivor Award and was celebrated by New Balance. Her honors took her to Washington DC, where she met with Pres. George W. Bush and First Lady, Laura Bush. Pat was an ardent volunteer for the Western Michigan Cancer Center, active with the breast cancer support group, " Just Ours ", and was a recognized three-time cancer survivor. Pat is predeceased by her parents, Kenneth and Jane Seaman, her sister Carol Seaman Henry, and infant grandson, Ian Christopher MacLeod.
