Patrick Daniel Sullivan

Sullivan, Patrick 9/14/1972 - 5/10/2015 Portage Patrick Daniel Sullivan, of Portage, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2015 due to complications from a stroke. He was born on September 14, 1972 in Battle Creek to James and Mary (Quirk) Sullivan. Patrick graduated from Galesburg-Augusta High School in 1991. While in school, he participated in several sports including football, wrestling and tennis. He was a member of the 1990 Class C State Runner-up football team that was inducted into the Galesburg-Augusta Athletic Hall of Fame in 2014. He and his brother, Michael, were one of the top ranked doubles tennis teams at the Class C/D State tournament in 1988. After high school, he attended Central Michigan University and Kalamazoo Valley Community College. Patrick worked for 20 years in the restaurant industry at many local establishments including Brewster's, Kansas City Grill, Lodos and North 11. He was currently the Kitchen Manager at North 11. At the age of 18, he picked up his first guitar and his life was forever changed. He was a self-taught musician who loved rock and roll. As long as he had a guitar in his hand, there was a smile on his face. Through his love of music, he met many amazing, life-long friends who will carry on his memory through their music. He was also an avid motorcycle and mountain bike rider who loved the open road. He was preceded in death by his father in 2008. Surviving are his mother, Mary; his sister, Lisa (Brian) Lapp of Winchester, Virginia; his brothers, Michael Sullivan of Lisle, Illinois and Timothy (Amy) Sullivan of Clermont, Florida; nieces and nephews, Bailey, Marina, Ava, and Sophie Sullivan and Andrew (AJ) Lapp. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. We will be honoring Pat's life at the VFW in Augusta on Wednesday, June 17 from 6-11 PM with a toast shared at 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Patrick Sullivan Memorial Scholarship at the Rock School Fund to help children be inspired by rock and roll at http://rockschoolfund.org/help-kids-rock-donate/fund-donors/ For obituary and condolences, please visit Patrick's personalized web page at www.avinkcremation.com. Patrick's wish was to be an organ donor. His one final gift helped changed the lives of several families. We will love you forever and will miss you always!
