Paul passed away Saturday, October 27 calmly and peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. Paul will be going on to meet his father, Louis Ihrman; mother, Bernice (Moore) Ihrman; brother, Kryn Ihrman and sister, Audrey Ihrman; who have passed before him. He was a loving husband to Wanda Ihrman for 56 fantastic years and an amazing father to his two children, Whitney Ihrman-Holmes and Cole Ihrman. Paul will also be leaving behind two grandchildren, Jesse and Layne Holmes who he loved and thought the world of. Also Mark Holmes, his son-in-law, who he thought of as a second son.
Paul was born on June 2nd 1942 and was raised in Kalamazoo MI.
He spent the majority of his working career as a Tool and Die Maker at Nation Waterlift, Fabri-kal, Checker Motors and Summit Polymer where he made many life long friends. Paul and Wanda spent many happy retirement years at Singing Sands in South Haven, MI. Paul and Wanda had their first date and spent their final summer in South Haven.
Paul loved Harley Davidsons and owned several in his lifetime. He took as much joy from cleaning and maintaining his bikes as he did riding them. He was always quick with a wave or a word to friends and neighbors that passed by his house while he worked on them.
Paul's friends and family will miss his quick wit and great sense of humor. He was a great storyteller and made everyone around him feel welcome and important. He had a knack for making anyone's worst situations bearable with his words and actions. Paul was a true man of his word and would be the first to support friends and family. The family will host a reception honoring Paul's life on Sunday, November 11 at one of his favorite spots Shakspeare's Pub from 5PM - 7PM. Friends and Family are welcome to join and share stories.
