Phillip Reiley

With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Phillip Arthur Reiley, who left this world on April 7, 2025, at the age of 71. A devoted husband, loving father, cherished friend, and hardworking craftsman, Phil was the embodiment of a "salt of the earth" gentleman-steadfast, sincere, and full of quiet charm.

Born on June 18, 1953, to Joyce Rebecca Fonnor and Orville Arthur Reiley, Phillip was raised with strong values that carried him throughout his life. He built a life grounded in integrity, grit, and a fierce devotion to those he loved.

On January 28, 1984, Phillip married the love of his life, Susan Kay Klein, in a private ceremony surrounded by close friends and family. For over 41 years, their marriage was a beautiful testament to loyalty, laughter, and love-punctuated by simple joys like family dinners, fresh-picked flowers, surprise chocolates, and yes, even the occasional bullfrog.

Phillip was a master of his craft and took great pride in his business, PAR-1 Painting, which he owned and operated for many years before retiring. Known for his meticulous attention to detail and uncompromising standards, Phil once painted the entire interior and exterior of the Denver Mattress store in Portage-breaking his own record by using 60 gallons of paint and completing the job in a single, sweltering day.

Beyond his work ethic, Phillip had a playful spirit and a warm sense of humor that could lift any room. He delighted in mushroom hunting, especially during morel season.

Above all, Phil was a family man. He was a loyal and generous provider, and nothing brought him more joy than being surrounded by loved ones. His pride and joy were his children, Paul Arthur Reiley and Elizabeth Ann Reiley, and his faithful four-legged companions-Tazzy, Teddy, and Tuffy-who rarely left his side.

Phillip is survived by his beloved wife, Susan; his children, Paul and Elizabeth; and his dear friend, Brad Buder. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joyce and Orville, and his siblings, Kathy (Jim) Bach, Michael (Susie) Reiley, and Steven (Paula) Reiley.

In accordance with the family's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no public services. In honor of Phil's lifelong love for animals and family, memorial contributions may be made to his family or to your local humane society.
