Phylis Mersen Mahoney

Mahoney, Phylis M. Bestervelt 6/14/1927 - 3/1/2018 Kalamazoo, MI Phylis M. Bestervelt Mahoney passed away peacefully on March 1. She was a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo, Michigan and a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church, Kalamazoo. Phylis was born, along with her twin sister Frances (Carr), on June 14, 1927, who survives her. She was the daughter of Neal C. and J. Marion Bestervelt. Preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Shirley Peppel and Mary Parr; her children, Carrie Doherty and Brian Mahoney. She is survived by Mary (W. Thomas) Fischer; Jack "Chip" (Dawn) Mahoney; Stephen Doherty; grandchildren, Stephen, Matthew, Courtney, Caitlin, Molly, Megan, and Kevin. A memorial service will be had at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southwest Michigan.
