Richard “Hub” Allen Dalman of Scotts, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025 at the age of 72. Hub was born on July 4, 1952, in Vicksburg, MI. He was the son of Mildred (Huntington) Dalman Hendrixson and Donald P. Dalman. Hub went to Vicksburg High School and graduated with the Class of 1970. Hub was a lifelong resident and friend and acquaintance to many in the community. Hub’s favorite place to socialize and have breakfast was the Copper Kettle of Athens. Hub cared for his friends at the Kettle and spoke of them often.
His heart was kind, and his words were even kinder. In earlier years he enjoyed hunting and ice fishing. Hub also had great knowledge and love for nature.
Hub worked with his stepfather Dale for many years, while caring for Dale and his mother Mildred. It spoke to his long caring and helpful nature for others. He then worked for Kalamazoo Stamping & Die for many years before he went on to work for Michigan Paving as a Roller Operator. Hub was happy to share his home with his nephew Joe Hendrixson, and great niece, Harlee. He loved their company and grew close to Harlee, helping her to attend high school and to finish driver’s training. Hub was a selfless individual who loved his family. Richard is survived by his siblings: Bonnie (David) Gorham, of Rome, GA; Linda (Tom) Campos, Bangor, MI; and Judy Reynolds, Kalamazoo, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Mildred and Dale Hendrixson and Donald P. Dalman: siblings: Donald E. Dalman and Steven Dalman.
A Celebration of his Life will be held on Sunday, Feb 2, 2025 from 2pm-4 pm, at the Scotts Community Center, 8450 South 36th Street, Scotts, MI.
