DeRusha, Richard Leonard Kalamazoo Passing peacefully at home after a 31 year battle with heart disease. Dick was born in Fond du Lac, WI to Millicent and Leonard DeRusha on June 24, 1930. Surviving are his wife, Sarah, a son, Craig, a daughter-in-law, Isobel and 2 grandchildren; Audrey and Ian of Pennington, New Jersey as well as a sister; Marilyn Rodgers of Orange Park, FL, a brother, Stanley and sister-in-law, Carmen of Carmel, IN as well as several nieces and nephews. Dick served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Prior to retiring, Dick worked as an Area Sales manager for Calgon Corp. receiving numerous awards for his efforts. One of Dick's passions was Tennis. Dick formed and was President, of the first Portage Soccer Booster Club. He was instrumental in making soccer a Varsity Sport in Portage Central and Portage Northern High Schools. His coaching efforts produced numerous wins and many memorable experiences for many players he coached. As was requested, cremation has taken place. There will be a family remembrance of Life at a later date. Donations in Dick's memory may be made to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan, 222 N. Kalamazoo Mall, Suite 100, Kalamazoo, Mi 49007.
