Richard "Dick" Lynn

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard Dale Lynn, affectionately known as "Dick," who left this world on November 16, 2023, at the age of 83. He departed from the comfort of his home, surrounded by loved ones.

 

Dick was born on June 28, 1940, in Schoolcraft, MI, to Maxine (Phellps) and Wayne Lynn. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Patsy Schultz and John Lynn. In the summer of 1961, Dick married his lifelong friend, Katherine (Gooley) Enders. Together, they embarked on a journey that took them to South Bend, IN, where they raised four children: Susan Marie Cherrone (preceded him in death), Lisa Anne Bogue, Edward Dale Lynn, and Sandra Christine Barbara Clark.

 

Beyond being a proud Marine he was an avid farmer, finding solace and purpose in the rhythm of the land.

 

However, Dick's true joy in life was found in the warmth of family, and he reveled in every moment spent with his grandchildren. His love and wisdom were a guiding light for each generation, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him.

 

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Dick's life at the Avink McCowen & Second Funeral Home, located at 409 S. Main Street, Vicksburg, on Tuesday, November 21st, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. A graveside service will follow at 2:15 p.m. at the Schoolcraft Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest.
