It is with sad hearts that the family of Ricky Lovelace regretfully announces his sudden passing on Thursday, October 12, 2023. Richard "Ricky" Michael Lovelace was born to Merilee Turner Lovelace and Steven Robert Lovelace on June 19, 1990 in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
From the very beginning of his life, he was a sweet and charming little guy. Growing up in Plainwell, Michigan gave him lots of opportunities to cause innocent mischief and play practical jokes on people. Many of his 2008 Plainwell High School classmates have stories of his pranks. After graduating high school, Ricky went on to attend Western Michigan University for two years in the Engineering program. He then joined the family business, Lawrence Industries, as the Waste Treat Manager for the past 13 years.
Quick with a smile and a helping hand, Ricky would do anything for anyone. He was a very smart young man with the ability to accomplish anything he set his mind to. His latest project was building an ultralight plane in his garage. He was always able to figure out the best way to do something.
Ricky was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Donald and Carol Turner; paternal grandfathers, Lawrence Lovelace and Eugene Murphy; and Aunt Markie Meinert. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Merilee and Steve Lovelace; his brother Kegan (Rachel Binagia) Lovelace; his grandmother Ruth Lovelace Murphy; his uncles, Michael Lovelace and Michael (Pamela) Turner; his aunts, Denise (Rich) Lehman and Micki (Ron) Pitkin; and many loving and dear cousins.
The family would like to thank the Avink McCowen Secord funeral home for helping us through this most difficult chapter of our lives. A Celebration of Ricky's Life will be held on Saturday November 11, 2023 from 1pm until 5pm at Four Points by Sheraton, 3600 Old Cork Street, Kalamazoo, Ml.
