Richard Trudell

Trudell, Richard Richard Trudell, 78 of Kalamazoo, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, June 6th, 2013. Dick was born October 2nd, 1934, son of Joseph and Dorothy Trudell in Harbert, MI. Dick graduated from New Troy High School in 1953 then continued his education at Western Michigan University receiving his BA (1957) and MBA (1961). While atending Western Michigan, he met and married his loving wife of 55 years, Jane Norton. They made their lovely home in Comstock, where Dick taught Industrial Education at Comstock High School until his retirement in 1992. Many will remember Dick as a quiet gentleman who could fix almost anything. He enjoyed spending his summer at their cottage on Baseline Lake. Dick also enjoyed golf, basketball and his hunting trips to the UP of Michigan with his son and relatives. Most improtantly, Dick loved his family, especially watching his three beautiful grandchildren grow up and participate in all their school activities. Dick and Jane spent their winter in Missouri where many times he was called upon to build props and games for their school carnivals and assit the grandchildren with ther math homework. Dick is survived by his wife Jane, daughter Karen (Kenneth) Retter of Cape Girardeau MO, their children, Caroline, Christian and Carson, his son David (Deborah) Trudell of Harbor Springs MI Also surviving are his brother, Louis (Dona) Trudell, sister Judy (Tom) Flanagan and nieces and nephews.
