Robert Loyd Carlton

CARLTON, Robert Loyd Portage Passed away peacefully on 12/15/2012. Bob was born Sept. 9, 1935 in Kalamazoo the son of Thomas Loyd and Zelna (Simpson) Carlton. He was a US Marine during the Korean Conflict. On April 5, 1957 he married Brenda Lou Bohne who survives. He was president of Beech Grove Campground in Marcellus. He enjoyed camping for 11 years. Also surviving are 4 children; Robert (Christine) Carlton, Stephanie Gail Carlton, Thomas Wayne (Kim) Carlton and Steven Todd Carlton, 4 grandchildren; Travis, Jeremy, Caden and Jessica, 3 great grandchildren; Kylie , Bo and Brianna, a sister; Ruth (Bill) Baker and a brother; William (Linda) Carlton, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason, sister, Francis. At his request cremation has taken place. The family will have a visitation at the Avink Funeral Home Schoolcraft Thursday Dec. 20, 2012 from 2 to 5pm. with a private burial at Ft. Custer National Cemetery at a later date.
